Guayabo National Park

Guayabo is one of the archaeological sites of Costa Rica. Part of the lost culture of a population that lived in Central America and the Caribbean basin. Some elements, especially in architecture have origin in South America and other features seem to derive from the North-American cultures, as the area where Costa Rica is located has served for thousands of years as a natural bridge between two continents previously separated .

The architectural importance of Guayabo known since the fourteenth century, when several expeditions in the region made incredible discoveries, developing one of the first archaeological exhibits of Costa Rica, which has been exhibited at the Museum of American History in Madrid (1982).
