Your overall comments on the trip and the travel company:
Our two families (four adults and four children) had a fantastic nine days in Costa Rica over Christmas and New Year's 2015. When we originally booked our trip, I asked several tour/travel agents to help find accommodations for us, but there was nothing satisfying to choose from. Somehow, Tachiz Travel was able to find the rooms we needed at two hotels (in Monteverde and Manuel Antonio) when nobody else was able to.
Also, Tachiz Travel provided us with ground transfers between San Jose, Monteverde, Manuel Antonio, and ending in San Jose. The buses were spacious and comfortable, and the drivers (brothers Jason and Michael) were wonderful and made special stops that we requested (such as seeing crocodiles from a bridge).
We did not use Tachiz Travel for activities throughout our vacation, since we were able to book those on our own, and there was no pressure from the travel company to use them if we chose not to.
What were the most enjoyable or memorable parts of your trip?
For the children, it was the park tours (rainforest in Monteverde and national park in Manuel Antonio), the beach and parasailing in Manuel Antonio, and ziplining in Monteverde.
For the adults, it was the quality of the hotels (El Establo in Monteverde and El Parador in Manuel Antonio) - the food was incredible, and the staff at the hotels (El Parador especially) were so polite, friendly, and helpful.
If you could take your trip again, what would you do differently?
I can't think of anything.
