Your overall comments on the trip and the travel company:
Tachiz Travel provide my family of 6 with an amazing costa Rica Adventure (despite my having waited till the last minute to plan the trip). Alex and Francisco put together a package of tours to please all my family members. I knew the trip would go smoothly when despite the 1.5 hours it took to get through customs, our driver was still waiting outside the airport with a smile and welcome gifts! Each scheduled tour guide was exceedingly prompt, friendly, and a wealth of information. The highlights of our trip were the private tour of organic farm/cooking lesson with a local family...it was a unique opportunity to experience the true culture of Costa Rican Families, and an absolutely lovely dinner with conversation. My children enjoyed getting to "juice" a sugar cane and make tortillas. On the adventure side, our favorite tour was canyoneering in Fortuna!! The guides were safety minded, but with lots of fun/mischief. The Monte Verde Cloud Forest Hike was fabulous, mostly because our guide, Oscar, was an 'ecological encyclopedia' and extremely adept at spotting wildlife for us to view. We even managed to see the elusive Quetzal, the highlight for my bird loving husband. And the Tarcoles River Safari Tour was also a great place to spot birds...we saw over 19 species including MaCaws flying in pairs...this tour guide was so engaging and made the tour a huge success. I highly recommend Tachiz travel to anyone wanting to visit Coast Rica, and would happily work with Alex and Francisco again in the future. Thanks!
What were the most enjoyable or memorable parts of your trip?
Loved Canyoneering, Organic Farm Tour, Monte Verde Cloud forest,
Prompt Tour Guides made traveling easy and stress free.
If you could take your trip again, what would you do differently?
I would probably spend more time in central Costa Rica and pass on the beach....While my kids truly enjoyed the beach activities, the travel to and from the beach to the rainforest areas is time consuming, and I prefer the rainforest areas more.
