Irazu Volcano



Irazu National Park, or "the powder keg of nature" as it is called, is an active volcano with an irregularly shaped subcono, bumping the 3.435 meters of altitude above sea level, on an area of ​​approximately 500 square kilometers.

There are four craters on the summit of Irazu, the main one called Diego de la Hague and two smaller in the south-east of the park.

The vegetation has undergone major changes over the constant erupcines ash, it is now possible to observe growth of plants scattered around the crater, the rest of the park area is located secondary parts of primary forest.
