Reserve of Cabo Blanco



The reserve of Cabo Blanco, was established in 1963, is the only protected area created prior to insertion of the park service in 1970, which has survived to this day.

This reserve occupies most of the southern Nicoya Peninsula, protecting older and varied examples of mixed deciduous forest tropical forest in the area.

This area is home to many rare species that are most at risk, including birds, jaragundis and other species of monkeys and rodents.

Here you can find natural pools along the coast, an important resource for birds living along the sea coast
