This is like the little Amazon of Costa Rica and not like what you probably have in mind when you think of any Caribbean destination. Tortuguero is for nature appreciation (from open skiff boats in small canals and creeks). It is also good for fishing Tarpon, Snook, Jacko Bell, Red Snapper, Macko among other species but you can swim neither in the canals nor in the ocean for there sweet and salt water sharks amongst many other species. Hotels have beautiful pools on the jungle.
