Costa Rica's South Caribbean Coast

Traditionally, it rains cats and dogs in Costa Rica during September and October. Some Facilities in the South Pacific even close for the entire two months. However, the rest is open for the adventure and we can operate most adventures around the rain. We find it fascinating that weather even tends to be drier in the Caribbean slope during these two months. Our South Caribbean can be enjoyed during this time frame, we are talking about Cahuita national Park, Puerto Viejo & Manzanillo.

The lush South Caribbean coast of Costa Rica is an area of untold natural riches, unique culture and traditions. You can experience the original laid-back villages. This region is extremely different from the northern Caribbean of Costa Rica. While the northern part is like the little Amazons of Costa Rica, here at the southern section, it is more like the little Jamaica of Costa Rica with its amazing blend of intense wilderness and the modern amenities that make a vacation memorable, without the crowds of other vacation destinations. It is easily accessible by road but still offers magnificent natural surroundings and deserted beaches. If your idea of a great vacation getaway includes thatched roof bungalows and/or a tropical seaside village at the edge of the jungle, here you will find a world of beautifully exotic birds, playful animals and smiling, colorful people.

What to do in this region: Your days? Relax on the beach, drive to Manzanillo or better yet, bike there and take a boat to observe the dolphins, or take a guided tour through the tropical forest reservations. You may decide to take an excursion to Cahuita National Park to further observe this unique biodiversity or glide over the coral reefs in a glass bottom boat. Your dreams of galloping on deserted white sand beaches can be fulfilled. Snorkel or scuba dive in paradise or surf the waves of the Caribbean. Other activities include river or sea kayaking or visiting butterfly farms, iguana farms, botanical gardens, bird watching or visiting the local Indian reservations, or end your days with a relaxing massage in the privacy of your bungalow.
