The North Caribbean Coast of Costa Rica, Tortuguero National Park.

This is like the little Amazon of Costa Rica and not like what you probably have in mind when you think of any Caribbean destination. Tortuguero is for nature appreciation (from open skiff boats in small canals and creeks). It is also good for fishing Tarpon, Snook, Jacko Bell, Red Snapper, and Macko among other species but you can't swim neither in the canals nor in the ocean for there sweet and salt water sharks amongst many other species. Hotels have beautiful pools on the jungle.

You cannot drive there but you can boat in and out or else combine it with light flights. This means that it is always better that we provide you with a package which includes round trip transportation from San Jose, all meals, all lodging and several tours. It is so beautiful, relaxing, interesting and fun that you probably will not want to miss a guided visit to Tortuguero during your stay in Costa Rica. It is the most important nesting site in the entire Western half of the Caribbean for the green sea turtle. A natural system of canals and navigable lagoons of great scenic beauty cross the park from southeast to northwest forming the habitat for seven species of river turtles, manatee or sea cow, reptiles, mammals such as howler and spider monkeys and a wide range of crustaceans plus some 30 freshwater species of fish. There are an astonishing 300 different species of birds and a wide range of crustaceans and some 30 freshwater species of fish. Eleven habitats have been identified in the park with the crab wood, banak, Santa Maria, bully tree and dove wood among the many types of trees. Important: from July to September, only a few minutes from your hotel, you can enjoy an unforgettable experience: the arrivals of the green sea turtle.
