Arenal Volcano



The hallmark of this national park is the impressive and majestic Arenal Volcano, an almost perfect cone of 1.633 meters high, whose regular eruptions offer one of the most extraordinary natural landscapes and impressive Costa Rica

The park has a diverse flora and fauna, including its four life zones: tropical wet forest, montane rain forest, lower montane rain forest, premontane wet forest, in which home to 35 species of fish, 135 species of reptiles including turtles, tepezcuinte, tapirs, deer, jaguar, Sahin, coati, howler monkeys, red and white face, a variety of snakes. A surprising 53% of the species that constitute the national population of birds live here, making this park a true paradise for birdwatchers.
