The Poas Volcano is over 2,700 meters. This is one of the most impressive volcanoes of Costa Rica, with tropical scenes that take your breath away. The land in this area is ideal for the cultivation of products and is an area of considerable potential for hydropower and geothermal.
In addition to the main crater Botos Botos lake there and von Frantzius cone and at least half a dozen other nearby cinder cones, made of dried lava and ash.
Some of the animals park residents are woodchucks, bats, quetzals and toucans, among the most common.
