We just took a wonderful Costa Rican vacation using Tachiz Travel (www.tachiztravel.com) and I can't say enough good things about what a wonderful time we had!
... Upon arriving at the airport we were greeted by our driver with a lovely bag of Costa Rican goodies (including a bottle of wine) for each member of our group! From there it was a quick ride to our hotel Presidente. After a little rest we were off to dinner and to explore a bit.
Our second day we were picked up (again....right on time) to go to our destination in Tortuguero. Once there we had a wonderful nature hike where we saw many beautiful butterflies as well as lizards. We were taken on a cruise through the canals and got some close-up shots of alligators, birds and many different plant life.
Day 3 we're off to the Arenal area where we were immediately awed by the beauty of Hotel Arenal Paraiso. The rooms were superior quality -- little log cabins that were just lovely. The hot springs of the hotel was a perfect way to end each night. We'd bring ourselves a nice cool drink out to the hot springs and stare up at the stars while immersed in the wonderful heated water! We were especially excited to get an up-close and personal look at the resident sloth! During our time here we got to go on a volcano hike which afforded us beautiful views of the still active volcano, a hanging bridge tour as well as zip-lining. Our tour guides were very knowledgeable and helpful!
Next we went to Monteverde where we got to take a guided walk and enjpoy seeing the many birds (even the very rare koetzel). The hotel was very nice and the dinner we had there was the best meal we had in a long time!
Our last stop was to Manuel Antonio National Park. Our hotel here was adorable -- the room was huge with 2 king size beds, a couch and an entire kitchen area. At the pool we got to see the many local monkeys swinging overhead! The tour we took of the National Park was wonderful and informative!
So....to conclude ... we would definitely recommend Tachiz Travel to anyone looking for a knowledgeable, reliable and hospitable company. They kept in contact with us consistently during our trip to ensure that we had a good time.....which we did!!!!!
